Hi, Daniel here!

I'm a PhD student at the Media Informatics Group at LMU Munich.

My research combines HCI and Machine Learning for "Computational Interaction" - analysing, modelling and predicting user behaviour. In particular, I leverage user- and context-specific behaviour patterns to create personalised interactions with "behaviour-aware" interfaces.

Besides gaining detailed insights into user behaviour, behaviour-aware UIs offer practical value for users by expecting and reacting to variations in behaviour, leading to personalised and expressive interactions. For example, in my thesis research I created mobile touchscreen UIs which consider uncertain input, varying hand postures and thumb reach, details of typing behaviour, as well as other behaviour characteristics.
